There are many free programs available on the Internet for resizing pictures. Here is one user-friendly program that is recommended:
IrfanView After you download the file to your computer, open the program. You will see a black screen with different menu options at the top. Select “Open” under the File menu. Choose the picture on your local desktop that you wish to resize and select “Open”. The picture will be displayed. Select “Resize/Resample” under the Image menu option. A dialog box will be displayed in which you can increase or decrease the size of the photo or edit the resolution. Once you are happy with your results, select “Save As” under the File menu option and use a new, unique name for the picture. This will save the picture back to your computer. You will now be able to use the new resized image. |
