View the video tutorial for this articleTo configure Outlook 2000, 2002, or 2003 for your email account, please use the following steps:
1. Open Outlook
2. Click Tools
3. Click Email Accounts
4. Select Add a new e-mail account
5. Click Next
6. Select POP3
7. Click Next - User Information
- Your Name: The name that appears when your correspondents receive your e-mail
- E-mail Address: The e-mail address you are configuring for sending/receiving
- Incoming mail server (POP3): pop3.webhero.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): your ISP's SMTP server
NOTE: You would only use our smtp.webhero.com setting if your ISP prohibits you from using their SMTP server for sending your domain email. The actual outgoing SMTP server used is invisible to all of your e-mail correspondents. It is best to use your ISP for outgoing mail service and you should contact them if unsure about this setting.
- Username: your email address - example: you@yourdomain.com
- Password: the password you created for the e-mail account
NOTE: If you have forgotten your e-mail password you may reset it as instructed in our knowledgebase
here.
- Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): leave this box unchecked
- Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): leave this box unchecked
- Test Settings: do not test settings until all steps have been completed
- Click More Settings (or skip to step 8 - see above)
- Click the Outgoing Server tab
- Check my outgoing server requires authentication
- Select log on to my incoming mail server before sending
- Click OK
8. Optionally:
- Click More Settings
- Click "Advanced" tab
- Check "leave a copy of messages on ther server"
- Check "delete after X amount of days"
- Change the " X amount of days" to the number of days you wish to leave e-mail on our server for downloading e-mail from two different computers and/or webmail access.
NOTE: each computer must check for messages at least once during the X amount of days period in order for both computers to have all the e-mail. Additionally, webmail will only have access to e-mail that is left on our servers.
9. Click Next
10. Click Finish
